The undefeated Zingano's moment of triumph - 30 Sep 2014 02:38

The undefeated Zingano's moment of triumph was 17 months in the making. She had a memorable UFC debut in April 2013, when she rallied from a shaky start to finish former Strikeforce champion Miesha Tate in the third round. With the victory over Tate, Zingano was supposed to earn a coaching slot opposite Ronda Rousey on "The Ultimate Fighter," along with a shot at her women's bantamweight title at the end of the show.Instead, Zingano injured a knee and had to drop out of both the show and the title shot. While she was out, she suffered through the death of her estranged husband m-shoesbox.
While coping with her out-of-the-ring issues, Zingano watched Rousey defend her title three times, as the champion defeated Tate, Sara McMann and Alexis Davis. And even as she prepared for her return, Zingano had to endure what seemed an endless period of speculation over whom Rousey might fight next. There was Gina Carano, the first star of women's MMA. There's the ever-looming specter of Cris "Cyborg" Justino. And there's undefeated Brazilian Bethe Correia, who has been defeating Rousey's friends one-by-one and taunting the champ while she does it. - Comments: 0
Well, without being able to roll, skating would definitely - 24 Sep 2014 02:49

Well, without being able to roll, skating would definitely be out of the question. And if you’re going to spend a small fortune on a glorified piece of driftwood, the investment piece should probably be kept safe from further destruction and deterioration.
But the possibility of someone buying the dressed-up scrap lumber isn’t completely out of the question. The designer has such die-hard supporters that there’s even a Tumblr page called peoplewearingrickowens.tumblr.com, dedicated to tracking his items on everyone from Taylor Swift to street-stylers.m-shoesbox.
And Kim Kardashian, perhaps Owens’s biggest fan of all, was spotted multiple times in the past few weeks rocking turtlenecks that retail for more than $1,000 each. Maybe this level of adoration from one-half of the “world’s most talked about couple” means that Owens can sell such an impractical item for an exorbitant price. The Wests are known for their unique and extravagant gift-giving (who could forget the George Condo-painted Birkin bag that the reality star was gifted?), so maybe the skateboard deck is already wrapped up with a bow and on its way to Yeezus. - Comments: 0
Warren Buffett is perhaps the greatest investor of all time - 18 Sep 2014 02:12

Warren Buffett is perhaps the greatest investor of all time, and he has a simple solution that could help an individual turn $40 into $10 million.
A few years ago, Berkshire Hathaway CEO and Chairman Warren Buffett spoke about one of his favorite companies, Coca-Cola, and how after dividends, stock splits, and patient reinvestment, someone who bought just $40 worth of the company's stock when it went public in 1919 would now have more than $5 million.
Yet in April 2012, when the board of directors proposed a stock split of the beloved soft-drink manufacturer, that figure was updated and the company noted that original $40 would now be worth $9.8 million. A little back-of-the-envelope math of the total return of Coke since May 2012 would mean that $9.8 million is now worth about $10.8 million.
The power of m-shoesbox patience
I know that $40 in 1919 is very different from $40 today. However, even after factoring for inflation, it turns out to be $540 in today's money. Put differently, would you rather have an Xbox One, or almost $11 million?
But the thing is, it isn't even as though an investment in Coca-Cola was a no-brainer at that point, or in the near century since then. Sugar prices were rising. World War I had just ended a year prior. The Great Depression happened a few years later. World War II resulted in sugar rationing. And there have been countless other things over the past 100 years that would cause someone to question whether their money should be in stocks, much less one of a consumer-goods company like Coca-Cola. - Comments: 0
He spent eight years bending the ear of George W. Bush. On Wednesday - 11 Sep 2014 02:39

He spent eight years bending the ear of George W. Bush. On Wednesday, former vice president Dick Cheney sought to advise another US leader, this time over how to contend with violent jihadists.
In a Washington speech, Cheney, an architect of the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, criticized a "disengaged" President Barack Obama for his defensive posture in the face of extremist threats, including those posed by the Islamic State (IS).
"While the president was claiming the tide of war was receding and core Al-Qaeda had been decimated, the threat was actually increasing," Cheney said at the American Enterprise Institute think tank where he received a standing ovation m-shoesbox.
"From Iraq, Syria and Yemen, over to Pakistan, all the way down to Somalia and west to Nigeria –- in various places under various names — a whole new wave of jihadists was on the rise."
Cheney has served four Republican presidents, and while conservatives applaud his hawkish national security positions, he is despised by many Democrats for his role in invading Iraq.
Speaking hours before Obama unveils his IS strategy, Cheney said the administration needed to take a stronger tack. - Comments: 0
The wide receiver had not been cleared for contact - 03 Sep 2014 03:35

The wide receiver had not been cleared for contact and Monday's appearance on the practice field was his first since he suffered a concussion Aug. 23.
"Tonight's news regarding Wes is very disappointing for our team, but we understand the league's authority in this area," Broncos coach John Fox said in a statement. "While it's unfortunate to not have him to start the year, I have full confidence in our wide receivers and expect that group to continue playing at a high level.
"I have no doubt that Wes will remain focused on his preparations for the season and stay in excellent shape during his time away from the team."
Welker's suspension is a huge blow to the Broncos' receiving game. Last season only four wide receivers caught passes for Denver and nearly 60 percent of those receptions will not be on the field in Week 1, as Eric Decker is now with the Jets and Welker is suspended, according to ESPN Stats & Information m-shoesbox.
The Broncos signed free agent receiver Emmanuel Sanders during the offseason and drafted rookie receiver Cody Latimer.
Over the last two seasons, only five players in the NFL averaged more targets per game than Welker. Welker ranks tied for eighth in the league in total targets over that span, despite missing three games, according to ESPN Stats & Information.
The Broncos have a tough start to the season, as they open up with four straight games against teams that won 10-or-more games last season. - Comments: 0
